If you need your passport faster, you may be able to get one of these services:
- urgent pick-up (by end of next business day)
- express pick-up (2 to 9 business days)
- emergency weekend or statutory holiday service
You can request these services
- when you apply
- after you apply, but you now need your passport sooner
To get the services, you
- need to provide the necessary documents
- may have to pay additional fees

If we didn’t meet our service standard: You applied for a passport and now need one on a weekend or statutory holiday (in Canada and for emergencies only)
To get your passport on a weekend or statutory holiday
- call us ahead of time at 1-800-567-6868. Our agents answer calls Monday to Friday
- 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (your local time)
- 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Newfoundland)
- except for statutory holidays
You need to pay some fees, but you can get a refund
You need to pay $355 for the weekend or statutory holiday service.
Since it took us longer than the service standard (opens in a new tab) to process your submitted application, you
- do not have to pay the
- application fee again
- urgent pick-up fee ($110)
- transfer fee ($45)
- may ask for a refund (opens in a new tab) for the submitted application
We cannot guarantee that you’ll get your passport on time
For example, you may not get a passport within your timeline if
- there are security concerns with your application or
- your application is incomplete
